The family business was started in 1899 by Panagiotis Al. Katsibaros. He was active in the wholesale trade of food, beverages, tobacco and silkworms. It had a large export activity in America. He was mainly involved in the processing-standardization-packaging and trade of Kalamata Dried Figs. One of the first slogans in Greek advertising was in 1913 for Katsibaros Figs: "Katsibaros Figs, The Fruit of the Season" In 1916 the Pan. Katsibaros INVENTS THE PACKAGING OF DRIED FIGS and packs the figs in cellophane in various packages and gives greater value to the product which until then was distributed in boxes and loose. Pan. Katsibaros is described as a "NATIONAL WORKER" in newspaper articles of the time. Katsibaros Dried Figs travel to Germany, Italy, Malta, Mexico, Australia and other countries of the world, they are also awarded at International Exhibitions in Paris and Thessaloniki. With the passage of time, it processes-standardizes-packages and markets Kalamata Olives strictly from the fertile Land of Messinia, from local producers. The family business Pan. Katsimbaros passing from generation to generation, reaching the 4th , surpassing a century of continuous presence, always with respect to the consumer, continues the family tradition, our roots. In our products you will find their natural taste, like in the past, without preservatives, made in the traditional way and the taste of our childhood. Our Figs and Olives with the distinctive title Pan. Katsibaros you will find them on the shelves of selected stores in Greece as well as in foreign countries. The company is housed in the family's old factory in Meropi, Messinia.
